Job Title: Quality Engineer- FAIR
Location: Enfield, CT (Onsite)
Job Description
What You will Do:
- Primary: Review Quality requirements of aero-engine components. Plan and prepare build of a regulatory based and compliant “First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)” supplier package for OEM acceptance. Work as per the requirements of AS9102-Rev C and associated customer procedures.
- Primary: “Balloon” engineer drawings (DISCUS software) to capture required quality inspection points. Determine/verify proper gaging equipment to use it to perform inspections – a part of the FAIR package. Inspection will include both dimensional and visual reviews using both manual and advanced gages / equipment. Inspection tools must be verified for calibration and proper functionality before used. Create or gather and verify all other quality supporting documents (test records, Material CoC, et al) – reviewing and assuring both accuracy and completeness of each. Flag and resolve any discrepancies in any data/records. Take all data and create the “FAIR package” using Net-Inspect software. Sign-off the FAIR as the Quality Engineering who created it and submit for OEM counter-approval – which is pre-requisite to allow release of hardware to OEM for use in engine builds. Store quality records and documents for potential audit. Monitor any changes to process that would require a “Delta-FAIR” to be processed. FAIR’s cover both military and commercial aero-engine builds. The work is performed on-site at a supplier in Connecticut in a modern Distribution Center environment.
- Secondary: Spot, segregate, and document Non-Conforming Material when encountered. Support others doing similar work.
- Interact w/ multiple computer systems / software to obtain, compile, analyze, report, and store technical data.
- Collaboratively engage daily with your Project / Team leader, Peers – providing WIP status, issues, options to resolve, and generate continues process improvement ideas.

What You Will Bring:
Experience
- BS Engineering Technical Degree (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, quality) – preferred
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience to role
- Will consider other degrees with additional (7 minimum) years relevant experience
- Other Quality Engineering Certifications (DQR, CQT, CQE, CQI, Audit, etc.) – noteworthy
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
- Creation/Reviewing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reviews (FAIR)
- Reading and applying Blueprints / Quality Requirements information to task
- Performing Inspection with both manual and electronic gages
- Creating/Reviewing PPAPs (Noteworthy, but not required)
- Reviewing, comprehending, compiling, and analyzing technical data
- Building technical data reports compliant to requirements.
- Prior roles w/ responsibility of reporting out technical results, issues, and solutions
- Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook – daily user
- Operating in procedure based and regulatory controlled environments

Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in Enfield, CT.
Work Schedule:
- We currently provide our services on-site from Monday-Saturday from 6AM - 6PM. Within that window, your specific work schedule will consist of 48 /hrs per week to start. Hours over 40 / wk paid at our Salaried OT Policy for salary roles.
- Our service providing schedule may change based on work demand, which in-turn may alter team member schedules.
- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
- Shop floor/Distribution site environment, which may include but not limited to extensive deskwork/walking/standing, and ability to lift 40 lbs. at times.
- Safety Shoes required.
