Role: EMC Engineer
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced EMC Engineer to support electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, troubleshooting, and compliance certification for electronic systems, particularly HVAC controls.
Responsibilities
- Perform EMC testing for conducted and radiated emissions.
- Conduct immunity testing, including ESD, EFT, surge, and RF immunity.
- Troubleshoot EMC issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Apply filtering, shielding, grounding, and PCB layout techniques to improve EMC performance.
- Use oscilloscopes and other testing equipment to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Support EMC compliance testing and certification.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure products meet applicable EMC standards.
- Maintain test documentation and compliance reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in EMC testing, troubleshooting, and compliance certification.
- Experience with HVAC controls and electronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of conducted and radiated emissions, immunity testing, ESD, EFT, and surge.
- Hands-on experience with filtering, shielding, grounding, PCB layout, and oscilloscopes.
- PLM experience is preferred.
