We are seeking an Animal Transport Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely conducting drop-offs OH, and NY. Along with local deliveries in MI.

Apet Incorporated is a full-line wholesale distributor of tropical fish, saltwater fish, corals, invertebrates, birds, small animals, and reptiles. We are a group of dedicated professionals that are passionate about the animals entrusted in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver small live animals to MI, NY, and OH
- Responsible for picking up and delivering product from vendors and customers in a timely and safe manner.
- Follow proper invoice policies and procedures.
- Become familiar with all shipping documents for the cargo being hauled.
- Load and unload delivery goods in a caring manner.
- Inspect that all product is safe before and after trip.
- Report animal conditions during transit to dispatch manager and respond appropriately to any issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and receiving parties.
- Most importantly, transport animals with care and compassion throughout the journey.
Requirements:
- MUST have a Class C driver's license and/or Chauffer license.
- MUST pass a pre-employment drug test and MVR screening.
- Comfortable driving in all types of weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be comfortable working independently on the road for long periods of time.
- Previous experience handling animals (highly preferred but not required. Compassion is enough.)
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior is a plus
Physical Demands:
- Employee is frequently and regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 - 70 pounds, stoops, kneel or bend. The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time is required and work in the confinement of a vehicle and step in and out of a truck.
- Employee is required to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle.
- Employee must be able to move animals for shipping or to be received at Apet, including pushing, pulling, bending, kneeing, and twisting.
- In performing duties, employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp; and to reach with hands and arms, at or above shoulder level.
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment.
