Are you an exceptional functional development manager with a proven track record of raising funds? If so, you are in luck because one of our clients, based in Miami, FL, is seeking a new Director of Development to lead their team!
This role will develop and implement the company’s fundraising strategy to identify, cultivate, and steward donors, including individuals, foundations, government, and corporations, for the annual fundraising. Work closely with the CEO on raising operating, capital, and endowment dollars and serving on the senior leadership team. You must be talented at inspiring consensus and can work in partnership with all levels of internal staff, as well as other community organizations and leadership.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Lead and manage fundraising activities, including identifying new funding opportunities and implementing targeted strategies.
- Amplify giving opportunities with an assigned portfolio of high-net-worth prospects and current donors.
- Track and analyze major issues and plan to perform and develop reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Oversee donor services and record management to ensure the accuracy of database information, protocols, relationship management, gift tracking and acknowledgment, cultivation, and donor communications.
- Partner with the C.E.O. to establish and sustain strong relationships with Board members in their fundraising roles and responsibilities, including staff oversight of the development committee.
- Work with marketing to develop communication strategies for various constituents, including direct mail, telephone, e-blasts, and social media.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors, and ensure compliance with the code of ethical principles and standards for fundraising executives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience. Masters preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional fundraising experience.
- Proven experience in designing and managing development and donor relations programs.
- Experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, donors, and other constituents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
