Surgical Technician, Plastic Surgery

Overview

We are a thriving private facial and body plastic surgery center seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technician will assist the surgeon by providing and controlling surgical instruments and equipment during surgery. Ensures that instruments and supplies are cleaned, sterilized and available as needed. Provides hands on assisting with procedures. In addition, the surgical assistant will assist the surgeon in day-to-day clinic flow when needed.

• Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure.
• Performs medical assisting duties which may include, but are not limited to, vital signs, height and weight, and assisting during excisions and surgical procedures. Ensures that all patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use daily.
• Assists surgeon during procedure according to prescribed standards. Assists and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Takes appropriate photographs of patients as directed by surgeon for pre and post documentation.
• Sterilize and package instruments in accordance with industry standards.
• Communicates with patients, other teammates and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person.
• Provided demonstrated competency and supervisory agreement is in place.
• Assist with OSHA daily and monthly checks. Must have the ability to correctly maintain the OSHA log. 
• Complete suture inventory and check rooms for expiring inventory.
• Will also complete Medical Assistant and other clinical responsibilities as needed, based on the needs of the center.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• Previous experience working within a medical assistant role is required.
• CST (Certified Surgical Technician) preferred but not required.
• Plastic Surgery experience preferred.

The salary for this role will range from USD $29.00 to $43.50 per hour based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
