Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with experience across inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facility settings. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supporting discharge planning, and assisting in the development of individualized care plans for diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients across various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Utilize specialized techniques including trigger point therapy to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor progress while maintaining detailed documentation of treatment sessions.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care environments.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure safe and effective therapy interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, mobility aids, and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment while adhering to all safety protocols and healthcare regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and patient care management.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care plan development tailored to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Experience supporting discharge planning processes within acute care or outpatient settings.
- Familiarity with orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, sports injuries, or pediatric therapy is advantageous.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
