Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team on a PRN basis in the Cameron COUNTY area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, with experience in various healthcare settings, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As an LVN, you will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and support patient needs across diverse environments, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments and vital sign monitoring to inform care plans.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following established protocols.
- Provide wound care, including dressing changes and infection control measures.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and support mobility for patients with complex needs.
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments.
- Knowledge of IV infusion techniques, catheterization, and sterile procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Strong assessment skills in acute pain management, triage, and emergency medicine scenarios.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture, and specimen collection accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
