Landing Gear Engineer

The Landing Gear Engineer is responsible for providing technical engineering support for aircraft landing gear maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. This position develops repair processes, technical documentation, work instructions, inspection criteria, and engineering data required to support existing and new landing gear capabilities. The role serves as the technical authority for landing gear overhaul programs and works closely with inspection, production, planning, quality, and management teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient repair processes in accordance with OEM requirements, FAA/EASA regulations, and company procedures.

• Develop and maintain technical work instructions, travelers, repair procedures, inspection sheets, and overhaul documentation for landing gear components and assemblies.
• Create and maintain bushing cut sheets, dimensional inspection criteria, hardware kits, consumable lists, and process specifications.
• Interpret OEM manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Service Bulletins (SB), engineering drawings, and technical publications.
• Research and evaluate engineering requirements for new landing gear platforms and capabilities.
• Support the introduction of new aircraft platforms and landing gear programs.
• Develop technical documentation required to add new landing gear capabilities.
• Review and analyze configuration differences between aircraft models and landing gear variants.
• Establish repair processes, tooling requirements, inspection criteria, and material requirements for new programs.
• Provide technical assistance to inspectors, machinists, assembly technicians, disassembly personnel, and NDT personnel.
• Review repair dispositions and support troubleshooting of technical discrepancies.
• Assist in determining repair limits, serviceability requirements, and approved repair methods.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure all engineering documentation complies with OEM, FAA, EASA, and company requirements.
• Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Maintain revision control of technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation, workflow efficiency, and repair cycle times.
• Support ERP implementation and digitalization of technical records.
• Participate in process improvement and standardization initiatives.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field), OR
• Equivalent aviation technical experience in landing gear overhaul operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft landing gear MRO operations.
• Strong experience with landing gear overhaul, inspection, repair, and engineering support.
• Experience developing technical documentation, work instructions, and repair processes.
• Experience supporting multiple aircraft platforms preferred (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, CRJ, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of aircraft landing gear systems and components.
• Ability to interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical publications.
• Knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair station operations.
• Familiarity with overhaul processes including:Disassembly

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and technical documentation systems.
• Previous experience as Landing Gear Engineer, Technical Engineer, Repair Engineer, Inspector, or Senior Landing Gear Technician.
• Experience supporting new capability development.
• Experience in FAA/EASA-regulated repair station environments.
