Maintenance Technician - The Valley Townhomes

Apartment Management Professionals, LLC (AMP Residential) is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Valley Townhomes! This apartment community has 254 units and is located in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with other service staff, residents and vendors. Some key responsibilities will include providing the highest level of customer service, make regular inspections of grounds and buildings as part of a preventative maintenance plan, complete service requests and assist with the apartment make-ready process. The maintenance technician reports directly to the maintenance supervisor.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:  

•  Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy by making any necessary repairs 
•  Complete work orders in occupied homes while providing fast, friendly service
•  Follow preventive maintenance guidelines
•  Maintain property grounds
•  HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance and all other service requests 
•  Team work to achieve property goals
•  Follow safety procedures

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Position requires ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
  • Must be able to lift or move 100lbs occasionally

•  1-2 years of experience in property management/facilities maintenance required 
•  Hard worker who is team oriented, positive attitude
•  Problem solving skills with ability to multitask
•  EPA Universal certification and/or CPO highly preferred
•  Valid Driver's License with auto insurance required 
•  Excellent customer service skills with strong communication and organization
•  Must be self started and self motivated
•  Facilities maintenance experience is a plus
•  Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
•  Must be available after hours and weekends for on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule)
