Service Area: Foley, AL & Pensacola, FL (Travel Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our property management team. This role focuses on performing carpentry, general maintenance, and repair work across residential and commercial properties in the Foley and Pensacola areas. The position requires regular travel between locations to support our portfolio of managed properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry repairs and installations, including doors, windows, cabinets, framing, trim, baseboards, drywall repair, flooring, decking, and fencing.
• Complete make-ready work on vacant units (patching, painting prep, fixture installation, minor renovations).
• Respond to maintenance requests involving structural, finish, and exterior carpentry issues.
• Inspect properties for needed repairs and report findings to the maintenance supervisor or property manager.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards, local building codes, and company quality guidelines.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.
• Accurately track time, materials, and work completed in the maintenance management system.
• Coordinate with other maintenance staff, vendors, and property managers as needed.
• Perform occasional general handyman tasks outside pure carpentry when required to support property operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a carpenter or in residential/commercial construction and repair (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plans, measurements, and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (required for travel between Foley and Pensacola).
• Reliable transportation or ability to use company vehicle for daily travel between service areas.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in various weather conditions, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Basic smartphone/app skills for work order management.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional, tenant-friendly communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in property management, multifamily, or rental housing maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, or HVAC as complementary skills.
• Own basic hand and power tools (company provides specialized equipment).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position.
• Regular travel required between Foley, AL and Pensacola, FL service areas.
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience, plus mileage or company vehicle use.
