Overview:
This position is responsible for the development and administration of comprehensive communications, marketing and fundraising efforts in collaboration with all stakeholders for Apalachee Center, including the public, media outlets, elected officials and partners. This includes rapid media response in crisis situations, publishing media advisories, and maintaining the social media presence of Apalachee Center.
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Communications, Marketing, and Fundraising Oversight
- Oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies for communications, marketing, and fundraising to support Apalachee Center’s mission and initiatives.
- Aligns all organizational messaging across internal and external channels to ensure consistency and impact.
2. Storytelling and Public Representation
- Effectively presents Apalachee Center’s story, mission, and services to the press, stakeholders, donors, and the general public to build awareness and support.
3. Media Relations & Earned Media
- Manages all earned media and media relations, serving as the primary point of contact for press inquiries and media opportunities.
- Proactively seeks media coverage and cultivates relationships with journalists and media outlets to elevate Apalachee Center’s visibility.
4. Advertising & Promotions
- Responsible for all advertising efforts, including paid social media campaigns, print ads and billboards.
- Develops and monitors ad performance to ensure return on investment and message alignment.
5. Website & Digital Presence
- Oversees all content and updates to the Apalachee Center website, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to implement improvements and enhancements as needed.
6. Brand Management
- Maintains and evolves the Apalachee Center brand across all platforms, including logo usage, visual identity, color schemes, typography and messaging.
- Manages the organization’s graphics and style libraries to ensure consistent visual representation.
7. Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and community leaders to increase awareness and support for Apalachee Center’s services.
Education/Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in business, non-profit management, or related field.
- A minimum of four years of experience in grant writing and business development and strategic planning. Background in health care representation preferred.
Licensure or Certification:
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license
- Maintain authorization as an approved Center vehicle driver.
