APACA Moving and Storage is hiring dependable, hardworking Packers and Movers to join our full-time professional moving crew in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This is a hands-on, physically active position supporting local and long-distance moving jobs. Our crews pack, load, unload, transport, and place household and business belongings while providing professional service in customers’ homes, businesses, and approved work locations.

Important: Federal Base Access Requirement: This position requires employees to enter and work on a federal military installation. Federal base access is an essential condition of employment.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must be able to:

• Successfully complete required background screening and receive approval for federal-base access
• Maintain federal-base access throughout employment
• Present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued identification card, or another federally accepted form of identification accepted for required base entry
• Comply with all base-entry, identification, security, safety, and conduct requirements
• Complete any required identity-verification, work-eligibility, or job-related screening processes

• Pack household and business belongings safely using boxes, wrapping materials, pads, and other moving supplies
• Load, unload, carry, and place furniture, boxes, appliances, and other customer property
• Protect furniture, floors, doors, walls, and customer property from damage
• Safely use dollies, hand trucks, furniture pads, straps, ramps, carts, and other moving equipment
• Organize, stack, secure, and unload items from moving trucks
• Follow directions from crew leaders and comply with company safety procedures
• Work professionally in customers’ homes, businesses, and federal-base locations
• Maintain respectful communication with customers, coworkers, and federal-base personnel
• Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and ready for the next job
• Report safety concerns, damaged items, customer concerns, or job-site issues immediately
• Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Be available for early starts, overtime, weekends, and schedule changes when business needs require

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass required background screening and receive approval for federal-base access
• Must maintain eligibility for federal-base access throughout employment
• Must have or be able to obtain before starting work a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state ID, or another federally accepted ID accepted for base entry
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to safely perform physical work throughout the shift, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing stairs, and remaining on your feet
• Ability to safely handle heavy household goods using proper moving equipment and team-lifting procedures
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
• Professional appearance and respectful customer-service skills
• Ability to follow company policies, safety rules, customer requirements, site rules, and security procedures
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Moving, packing, warehouse, delivery, furniture-handling, construction, or general-labor experience
• Experience working directly with customers in homes or business locations
• Experience working on military, government, secure, or controlled-access locations

Pay and Benefits

• $13.00–$18.00 per hour, based on experience
