Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various machinery including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, stamping presses, CNC mills, lathes, and welding equipment to produce muffler components.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters according to blueprints and work instructions.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and schematics to ensure precise fabrication.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Utilize forklift and crane equipment safely for material handling and movement within the manufacturing area.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC programming, sheet metal fabrication, and other complex processes.
- Assist in assembly tasks as needed, ensuring parts are correctly fitted and assembled according to standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, inspection results, and equipment logs.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, welding tools, and basic hand tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, machining operations, and assembly procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles for precise part specifications.
- Understanding of safety standards related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, welding, and machine operation.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality components efficiently.
