Position Overview
The University of Kansas Health System – Great Bend is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and operation of hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform general and routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and daily non-scheduled work requests for assigned areas of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general and routine maintenance and servicing of hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks
- Respond to daily maintenance and service requests
- Assist with building maintenance, plumbing, heating, electrical, sanitation, and safety-related systems
- Help maintain a safe and functional hospital environment
Schedule & On-Call
- Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- On-call: Every 4th week
- On-call response: 30-minute required response time
- Weekend/holiday on-call may be required
- No floating requirements
Pay & Benefits
Hourly Pay Range: $15.50–$26.24/hour, based on experience.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of related experience
- Working knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, heating systems, sanitation, electrical systems, and fire/safety regulations
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license required
