Postion Overview
The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist assists the Purchasing Supervisor and Vice President, Trade Relations and Supply Chain with the daily responsibilities of maintaining proper stock and equipment for all pharmacy locations. Handles a variety of tasks and duties as assigned by management. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist assists the Purchasing Supervisor and Vice President, Trade Relations and Supply Chain with the daily responsibilities of maintaining proper stock and equipment for all pharmacy locations. Handles a variety of tasks and duties as assigned by management. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Places IVIG and specialty drug purchase orders for all pharmacy locations.
- Aids in maintaining proper stock in IVIG and specialty medications.
- Helps Purchasing Supervisor with locating hard-to-find products for all pharmacy locations.
- Back up to Purchasing Supervisor when finalizing inventory reports for all pharmacy locations.
- Updates and prepares supply chain tracking and ordering workbooks and reports.
- Reviews and provides new drug access information and profitability assessments.
- Assists when needed with equipment maintenance needs.
- Performs other related and support duties as assigned and developed by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field or related area.
- Familiar with a variety of fields, concepts, practices and procedures, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Office applications such as Word, and Excel.
- Excellent communications skills, telephone skills, and organizational skills.
- Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills.
