At St. Anselm, we believe that education is about more than preparing students for high school, college, or a career. The primary mission of a Catholic school is to help our students know, love, and serve God and ultimately get to Heaven. We are looking for a teacher who embraces that mission and understands that every interaction with a student is an opportunity to form not only the mind, but also the heart and soul.

  • Establish clear expectations, consistent routines, and appropriate boundaries while maintaining a positive relationship with students.
  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in middle school Social Studies and Religion.
  • Help students understand history not simply as a collection of facts, but as a story of people, choices, cultures, ideas, and the development of civilization.
  • Teach Catholic Religion in a manner that supports the teachings of the Catholic Church and helps students grow in their relationship with Christ.
  • Build authentic relationships with students and demonstrate genuine interest in their academic, personal, and spiritual development.
  • Recognize that middle school students need both structure and encouragement as they grow in independence and maturity.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage different learners and provide appropriate differentiation.
  • Monitor student learning through formative and summative assessment and use data to adjust instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Be receptive to feedback and demonstrate a willingness to grow professionally.

  • Communicate professionally and consistently with parents and colleagues.
  • Serve as a positive Catholic role model through professionalism, integrity, compassion, and personal example.

A teacher at St. Anselm is more than an instructor. Our teachers are witnesses to our Catholic faith.
We seek someone who understands that the ultimate purpose of a Catholic education is not simply academic achievement. We want our students to become young people who know their faith, understand their responsibilities to God and others, recognize the dignity of every person, and are prepared to live lives of virtue and service.

Our Social Studies teacher should help students understand the world they have inherited and their responsibility to contribute positively to it. Our Religion teacher should help students encounter the Catholic faith and recognize that their education is ultimately ordered toward knowing and loving Jesus Christ.
