Classroom Aide

Location: Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide to support our teachers and students in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The Classroom Aide will assist with daily classroom activities, help maintain a positive learning environment, and provide individualized support to students as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Help maintain classroom order and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions.
• Assist with record keeping, grading, and organizing classroom resources.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents as needed.
• Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Basic knowledge of classroom technology and educational tools is helpful.

Work Environment

This position is based in a classroom setting within a school located in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The role involves standing, walking, and interacting with students throughout the school day.
