Position Description Summary:
The Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product. Must be skilled in the operation of the seated forklift. Must be flexible; willing to support other departments and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
The Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product. Must be skilled in the operation of the seated forklift. Must be flexible; willing to support other departments and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Principal Accountabilities: (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units
- Receives supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code, lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Willingness to cross train and work in all areas of the warehouse
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Significant forklift experience or certification required
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth
- Effective organization, scheduling, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Basic language skills. Able to read, understand and communicate basic information in English. Able to effectively present information to customers or company staff.
- Must be able to analyze information with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess computer and data entry skills
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs
- Must have a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to work in a hot/cold warehouse environment
Salary : $42,509 - $54,448
