Our Lady of Mount Carmel invites applications for the position of Middle School Cheer Head Coach for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and school pride.
Essential Functions
- Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and games.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote individual player growth and team success.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and faith-filled team culture.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic staff.
- Coordinate game preparation, scheduling needs, equipment, and team logistics.
- Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and character development among athletes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Maintain compliance with school and league policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the athletic program
Position Qualifications
Previous cheer or coaching experience preferred, ideally at the middle school level.
- Knowledge of cheer fundamentals, athlete development, and performance strategy.
- Experience working with middle school students.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to fostering teamwork, accountability, and character within the program.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Pay Range: Stipend - $1,000 - $2,000
