Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Membership Sales
Ours is not a hard-sell approach. We use a proven system to engage prospects in a caring way, help them get started and overcome their roadblocks to fitness success.
Important: Membership sales is the primary function of this job. If you are not comfortable with sales and marketing, and not comfortable calling complete strangers to invite them in for a club tour, this is not the job for you.
Club Culture
People love it here! Check our Google reviews to see for yourself. We greet people by name and take a genuine interest in their fitness success. The Membership Manager plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter and use our club.
- Provide encouragement to all members all the time.
- Conduct club culture events (member appreciation, clinics, contests, etc.).
- Assist all staff members (including the club owners) in keeping the club always clean.
Member Retention
Use our system to monitor each member’s club usage and fitness progress. Reach out to those who have not used the gym in the last two weeks and/or are not getting the results they joined the gym to get.
Club Marketing
- Participate in outside marketing events (community festivals, charitable causes, group workouts at public parks, etc.).
- Use our social media sites to interact online with members and prospects.
- Distribute fliers to neighboring businesses.
Administrative
- Open/close the offices as appropriate to your shift.
- Complete daily production reports.
- Manage the club’s vending operation (drinks, bars, supplements, accessories).
- Balance cash drawer daily and prepare the bank deposit.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry
- Strong communications and teamwork skills
- Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic!
Requirements
- Current CPR/AED certification (Fitness certifications are a plus.)
- High school diploma/GED equivalent (Additional education a plus.)
- Ability to read well, write well, do basic math and type
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Facebook; graphics skills are a plus.)
- Five years customer service experience or two years fitness industry experience
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to demonstrate fitness equipment and exercises of all types to gym prospects and members
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing and walking, and listening and talking in person and on phone
- Occasional rigorous physical activity (demonstrate equipment and exercises)
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals (cleaning supplies)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Occasional outdoor work in Florida weather
Compensation and Hours
- Base hourly rate plus commissions on membership and training sales
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Occasional weekend work
- Possible overnight travel to training events (travel expenses paid by company).
