Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist and Administrative Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role combines essential specimen collection and patient care responsibilities with administrative tasks that ensure smooth laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, excellent patient service abilities, and organizational competence to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Duties
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures using aseptic technique to ensure specimen integrity and patient safety.
- Collect, process, and label specimens accurately according to established protocols.
- Measure vital signs and assess patient physiology to support clinical testing procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to specimen collection.
- Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures clearly, ensuring comfort, and addressing patient concerns professionally.
- Manage administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate records, and processing laboratory documentation efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to infection control standards and safety guidelines to uphold high-quality laboratory practices.
Experience
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting or hospital environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques such as venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing.
- Ideal candidate must have an Associates or a Bachelor of Science degree.
- A College degree is required. Must have AA. or a BSc. Degree and ability to draw blood
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinical setting are required.
- Previous roles involving patient service or phlebotomy will be considered a significant asset for this position. Pay: $18.42 - $22.75 per hour
