2026-2027 Instructional Assistant - 10 Month

                                          POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:  Instructional Assistant

REPORTS TO:      Principal and/or Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  10 month employment with benefits

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• Sensitivity to the needs of children
• Prior experience in working with children at appropriate age/grade level
• Ability to follow written and oral directions from the classroom teacher, the building principal, and instructional supervisor
• Willingness to accept supervision from the classroom teacher and other professionals
• Good physical and emotional health
• Enthusiasm for working with children
• Respect for confidentiality of matters relating to school/students
• Must meet Highly Qualified criteria 

PERSONNEL RELATIONSHIPS:

• The instructional assistant works under the supervision and authority of the principal, who is responsible for ensuring that the employee is meeting the requirements of the job assignment. 

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow daily lesson plans provided by the supervising teacher

• Maintain the approved work schedule consistently and punctually except in cases of emergency or necessary absence

• Perform non-instructional duties as assigned by the principal or assistant principal

• Refer parent concerns to teacher or appropriate administrator

• Attend required in-service

OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION:

• Maintain an annual work schedule as assigned

• Follow the school policy in cases of absence

Salary : $12 - $14
