Anvil Innovations in Slaughter, LA is hiring a Manual Drill Press Operator to handle drilling work on the heavy steel components that go into our products. The role centers on setting up, operating, and tending manual drill presses to drill, bore, ream, and countersink metal. You'll be responsible for your own setups and held to consistent quality standards throughout.
Anvil Innovations manufactures clamshell buckets and grapples for bulk material handling, and provides repair, parts, rebuild, and custom engineering services. Our products are used worldwide in ports, construction, dredging, waste handling, and material processing — and every one of them is designed and built in-house at our Slaughter, LA facility.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Setting up, aligning, and operating manual drill presses to drill holes per specification
- Drilling pins, shafts, bushings, hubs, and other fabricated parts
- Drilling and tapping holes for grease fittings in pins and shafts
- Reading and interpreting work instructions, basic prints, and hole location callouts
- Inspecting drilled parts for size, location, and quality
- Maintaining tooling (bits, chucks) and drill press housekeeping
- Reporting defects or issues to the supervisor
- Performing daily cleaning on the equipment
- Following safety protocols

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
- Willingness to learn and work safely in a machine shop environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to perform basic shop math using whole and fractional measurements
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, handle steel parts, change tooling, and repetitively operate equipment
- Reliable attendance and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen
Preferred:
- Prior machining or industrial fabrication experience in a shop setting, or a graduate of a machinist, fabrication, or trade school
- Familiarity with shop measuring tools (calipers, squares, tape)
