We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Engineer for a 3-month on-site project in Georgia (with the option to extend) to support PLC programming, system commissioning, and instrumentation integration for a large industrial wastewater treatment facility.
This is a hands-on, field-focused role suited for engineers who are comfortable working directly with control panels, field devices, electricians, and process teams during startup and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
PLC & Controls
- Perform on-site Siemens PLC programming, including modifications, debugging, and optimization
- Work with TIA Portal / Step 7 for logic updates and commissioning adjustments
- Integrate PLC systems with VFDs, MCCs, and remote I/O panels
- Troubleshoot control panels, industrial networks, and field wiring
Commissioning & Startup
- Lead and support loop checks, I/O verification, and functional testing
- Execute dry and wet commissioning procedures
- Validate interlocks, alarms, and process control sequences
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and process teams during startup
Instrumentation
- Configure and test analog and digital field instruments, including flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, pH analyzers, and chemical dosing equipment
- Calibrate and verify 4–20 mA signals, discrete I/O, and networked instrumentation
- Support integration of pumping systems, chemical dosing skids, and treatment process controls
Documentation & Support
- Update PLC documentation and I/O verification records
- Provide redlines and as-built control updates
- Support operators and plant staff during system handover and initial operation
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLC systems
- Proficiency in TIA Portal (required)
- Field commissioning experience in industrial facilities
- Solid understanding of motor control systems (VFDs, starters, MCCs)
- Experience with process instrumentation, including flow, level, pressure, and analytical devices
- Familiarity with industrial networking (Profinet / Ethernet)
- Ability to work independently in a construction and startup environment
Preferred Experience
- Wastewater or water treatment plant commissioning
- Chemical dosing and process control systems
- MCC and control panel troubleshooting
- Experience working with EPC contractors on active project sites
Work Conditions
