Essential Role Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test innovative solutions and prototypes for new and existing products.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, design thinking, design research and user research to generate insights & validate design solutions.
- Develop and test prototypes to evaluate jobs to be done, performance, reliability, and safety.
- Present design concepts to internal teams and customers, incorporating feedback to refine solutions.
- Communicate design ideas effectively through detailed sketches, 3D models, prototypes, and presentations.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for designs, specifications, and test results comprehensively.
- Support the Innovation department in achieving project goals and timelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by department team leader(s).
Essential Skills & Role Qualifications
- Proficiency in experimentation, prototyping, and creative problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform engineering calculations and simulations.
- Understanding of design thinking, design for manufacturability, and design for assembly principles. (preferred)
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including but not limited to hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation/robotics.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to excellence in all aspects of design work.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Mechatronics) or related experience.
- High school interns will be considered based on relevant skills and interests.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
