The Product Engineer owns the manufacturing system for Anton Paar QuantaTec products, ensuring they are built consistently, efficiently, and without reliance on individual knowledge. This role defines, maintains, and improves how products are assembled, tested, and supported in production.
The Product Engineer is involved throughout the product lifecycle, from development through production, ensuring products are designed for manufacturability and successfully transitioned into stable, repeatable processes. By developing deep product understanding, the Product Engineer translates design intent into clear standard work, drives root cause resolution of issues, and continuously improves production performance, quality, and throughput.

The Product Engineer takes ownership of manufacturing processes, proactively identifying and addressing gaps to improve system performance while collaborating across teams to implement effective solutions. Job duties include:
Own and define the manufacturing system for assigned products, ensuring they are built consistently, efficiently, and without reliance on individual knowledge Develop and maintain assembly processes, test methods, and standard work that are clear, repeatable, and scalable Create, standardize and continuously improve visual Work Instructions that enable operators to execute without additional guidance Develop deep understanding of product functionality, critical features, and failure modes to inform manufacturing processes Translate design intent into manufacturable processes and support development teams with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback Ensure all production issues are identified, documented, and owned through a structured issue management process Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues Update processes and Work Instructions based on issues, improvements, and production feedback Own and drive continuous improvement opportunities focused on yield, cycle time, quality, and production flow to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies in the manufacturing process Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Lean principles) to achieve measurable improvements Engage with production to observe processes, validate changes, and identify gaps in clarity, tooling, or execution Support the transition of new products from development into stable, repeatable production processes Ensure manufacturing readiness through defined processes, documentation, and risk identification Communicate process changes, improvements, and risks clearly across cross-functional teams May be required to travel to other Anton Paar facilities domestically or internationally (All other duties as assigned

Supervision Exercised
This role is an independent contributor who is a member of multiple teams and does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, observe, communicate and handle items such as computers, machinery and other equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position requires the ability to obtain a Passport for international travel.

The Product Engineer typically requires a combination of experience, education, training, certifications and skills. This role requires the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electronics
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing or product engineering with hands-on experience supporting or improving production processes, standard work, or issue resolution
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, or similar methods)
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or transitioning products into production
- Ability to translate technical product knowledge into clear, usable processes for operators
- Strong cross-functional communication skills across engineering, production, and quality teams
- Experience with ERP Systems (SAP)
