Antoine's Famous Cakes, located at 1300 Stumpf Blvd. in Gretna, LA, is looking for a skilled professional Head Baker to become part of our team. Our team comprises 28 individuals passionate about baking and providing our customers with the best possible experience.
We are looking for an ideal candidate who can lead the team with their expertise and experience. The candidate should be self-motivated, self-driven, committed, and hardworking. Having an experience of 12 years of leading a team in a bustling bakery would be preferred for this position.
Responsibilities:
As a baker, your responsibilities include:
• Weighing and measuring ingredients accurately,
• Mixing and blending batters, and shaping dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and other baked goods.
• Ensure the dough is rolled evenly and cut or shaped to the desired specifications.
• Also, be able to ice, glaze, and decorate baked goods skillfully.
Top priorities:
• It is vital to prioritize setting the oven’s temperature by monitoring and modifying it carefully throughout the baking process.
• Must keep track of inventory and prepare it accordingly to avoid any shortages.
• Additionally, keeping clean workspaces and equipment and ensuring the quality of products will contribute to the overall success of the bakery.
• Lastly, managing the staff schedules and providing adequate coverage of shifts is necessary to keep up with production demands.
Preferred candidates are those who have a minimum of 12 years of experience as a Baker and possess a keen eye for detail in all aspects of baking. Working well in a team towards a common goal is also highly valued.
