Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and support to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to care plans and safety protocols
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation with precision and clarity
- Oversee medication administration, including injections and IV infusions, following strict protocols and HIPAA confidentiality policies
- Manage patient flow through triage, intake, discharge planning, and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities
- Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures in skilled nursing or assisted living settings
- Lead emergency response efforts including airway management, acute pain management, or trauma situations in accordance with Level I or Level II trauma center experience if applicable
Requirements
- Valid RN or LPN license with current state licensure and certification in basic life support (BLS) and CPR
- Demonstrated experience working with geriatric patients, memory care, or dementia care environments
- Strong clinical knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical-surgical nursing practices
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management
- Proven ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining excellent patient care standards in settings like hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living communities
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs collection, specimen collection/processing, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile procedures
- Knowledge of infection control practices and long-term care regulations to ensure compliance across all operations
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations involving acute care needs such as ventilator management or ICU scenarios; experience in emergency medicine preferred
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver communication, client interaction, and interdisciplinary collaboration
