Position Overview:
The Grants and Awards Manager is a key member of the Grants Administration team within the office Institutional Advancement and manages the monitoring of post-award grant activities, evaluation plans and compliance reporting. The Grants Manager collaborates with Principal Investigators, academic units and staff from other Antioch Departments to conduct data analysis and ensure the progress monitoring of grant objectives, outcomes, and impact reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The Grants Manager also assists in the pre-award process for the research, concept development, proposal writing and submission of grant applications to foundation and government funders in support of Antioch University’s strategic initiatives and priorities. This position will also maintain a web-based awards management system that will maintain and systematize information for all on-going and completed projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the progression of all grant project activities, evaluation plans, data collection methods to ensure effective post award management and facilitate a timely grant reporting process. Collaborate with all grant award Project and Activity Directors to monitor grant progress and post-award compliance.
- Work closely with the Grants and Contract Analyst and the Fiscal Operations Office to monitor and manage awarded grants including budgeting, reporting, and compliance timelines through the lifecycle of each grant.
- Manage the creation, review and submission of required grant stewardship, impact, or compliance reports, including producing data analysis of grant evaluation qualitative and quantitative data collected through a variety of methodologies
- Assist the University Director of Institutional Advancement/Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and University Provost, General Counsel and Vice Chancellor of Human Resources in developing systems, policies, and procedures for an effective grants management infrastructure, including the development and maintenance of grants management handbooks and manuals, training materials, and grants website to communicate the grant operating procedures relevant to grant development, submission, and administration.
- Collaborate with the University Director of Institutional Advancement/Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and University Provost, General Counsel and Vice Chancellor of Human Resources to develop materials that articulate the impact of grant initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and design of grant evaluation and data collection methodologies in the pre-award proposal development stages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- At least 4-6 years of experience in a grant’s management, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage, and move multiple projects forward in a self-directed, goal and deadline-oriented work environment
- High level of computer proficiency and experience with data analysis or reporting (e.g., excel, SPSS, R, etc.) and the ability to master a variety of electronic grant application and grant management systems, such as Grants.gov, Raisers Edge, Colleague
- Knowledge of data collection tools and document management systems such as Teams/Microsoft OneDrive
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Proven collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across units and roles within the university
- Proposal Development Experience
- Project and or grants management certifications(s)
- Knowledge of federal agency grant policies, procedures, or post-award compliance best practices preferred
- Master’s degree in a related field.
Hours of Employment:
This is a full-time, exempt position serving a national university which operates in multiple time zones. Work schedules will need to flex with the job responsibilities.
Work Location:
Anywhere within the continental United States, either from a home office or at a campus or University location. Travel occasionally required .
