What are the responsibilities and job description for the CSR - Customer Service Representative position at Antigo Veterinary Clinic?
Antigo Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full time, career oriented Veterinary Receptionist. This position requires a high level of problem-solving skills, ability to learn medical terms and scheduling, attention to detail, computer skills and telephone skills, and ability to manage high stress situations. Prior experience working in a medical or dental office is a plus. The work is not sedentary and requires ability to sit, bend over, squat, lift and/or stand for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs. Employees may be exposed to risk of animal bites and zoonotic diseases. OSHA training for the veterinary hospital is required as part of onboarding to avoid health risks related to the profession. The position is not suitable for persons just looking to "work with animals", as the daily responsibilities of the receptionist do not include working directly with animals on a routine basis. Candidates must be able and willing to work with challenging clients who can be pushy, rude and demanding on a daily basis, and learn how to expertly handle them to achieve a situation that benefits both the client and the business. Candidates should have a high level of empathy and also the firm resolution required to communicate effectively with pet owners. As an aside, we do not tolerate repetitive rude behavior from clients to employees and reserve the right to refuse service to pet owners who do not treat our staff with respect.
