Job Title: LPAC/Special Programs Facilitator Wage/Hour Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Executive Director of State and Dept/School: Bilingual/Special Programs

Federal Programs District

Primary Purpose

To facilitate the implementation of the LPAC, Special Education, and 504 processes and procedures. Coordinate, schedule, and participate in the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) meetings to ensure appropriate student program placement and compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED and meet one of the following requirements:

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to work with students with disabilities
  • Proficient in both English and Spanish Knowledge of LPAC procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Pre-LAS and LAS Links (preferred)
  • Ability to use a variety of computer software
  • Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Email
  • Must be able to coordinate zoom calls with parents if needed
  • Strong organization, communication and public relations, and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask

Major Responsibilities And Duties

Instructional and Program Management

  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, completion, and filing of all English Language Proficiency, 504 and Special Education documents at AISD.
  • Ensure all required documentation is in the student's cumulative folder using the data management system as applicable.
  • Assist campus administrators to ensure all Emergent Bilinguals are administered the TELPAS.
  • Maintains all Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) documents that belong in the student's cumulative records such as: Bilingual English as a Second Language program Permission Letter, Home Language Survey, PreLAS/LAS testing, scoring and documentation, student assessment data and end of year review information, archived in district's software.
  • Prepare all necessary arrangements, reports, and documentation for required LPAC, 504 and Special Education meetings.
  • Meets with LPAC Coordinator and members as needed: Presenting to the LPAC members the complete LPAC forms for their review and decision.
  • Compiles data to prepare the LPAC forms. This includes state and local assessment data and teacher recommendations.
  • Administer the required language assessments for Bilingual/ESL district students and dual enrolled students in Early Childhood Partnerships.
  • Records data on LPAC forms to determine which students will enter, re-enter, remain, or exit from the Bilingual/ESL program.
  • Attends mandatory staff development activities as needed to perform job functions and to improve performance.
  • Maintains a professional level of confidentiality concerning personnel and students.
  • Maintain calendar of timelines for annual requirements for LPAC, special education, and 504 programs.
  • Schedule meetings for 504 and special education programs; prepare and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Input PEIMS information and provide reports to Supervisor for verification purposes.
  • Assist with verification and monitoring of School Health and Related Services billing.
  • Responsible for certification of Bilingual/ESL teachers/committee through TEA.
  • Responsible for getting certified to score and code in DRC (Data Recognition Corporation).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting and/or standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: Work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside/outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Terms Of Employment

Primary Location: District Wide

Clerical/Paraprofessional Plan/Pay Grade 2

Term of Employment: 187 days/40 hours per week
