At Antares Tech we are seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for a professional with strong hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and controls engineering within manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.This role is focused on OPEX / Continuous Improvement projects, supporting automation upgrades, process optimization, system reliability, and production efficiency initiatives.
The candidate should be capable of leading automation improvement projects, supporting commissioning activities, and implementing reliable control solutions to enhance operational performance.
Main Responsibilities:
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and HMI systems using Emerson PLC platforms and Siemens Remote I/O systems.
• Support and execute OPEX / continuous improvement projects related to automation and process optimization.
• Analyze machine and process performance and implement automation improvements to increase operational efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
• Support commissioning, startup, and implementation of controls and automation projects.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, relays, sensors, motors, and industrial communication systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Maintain backups and technical documentation for PLC, HMI, and machine control systems.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to execute automation upgrades and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and integrated safety systems.
Technical Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting Emerson PLC systems.
• Experience working with Siemens Remote I/O systems.
• HMI / SCADA experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting background involving MCCs, VFDs, and control panels.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Experience supporting the full project lifecycle including design, development, implementation, commissioning, and startup.
• Knowledge of integrated safety systems and industrial safety standards.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
• PLC programming experience with Emerson platforms.
• Experience with Siemens Remote I/O systems.
• HMI development experience.
• Knowledge of industrial safety systems and automated process controls.
