We are now seeking a warm, experienced, and highly motivated Childcare Center Director to lead our center with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
Position Overview
The Childcare Center Director is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of Ant’s Farm Childcare Center, ensuring a safe, supportive, and developmentally rich environment for children, families, and staff. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with hands-on experience working with children—including required previous experience supporting children with special needs—and a deep understanding of what high-quality childcare looks like.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration
- Oversee daily center operations to ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Maintain compliance with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Manage staff schedules, ratios, and classroom assignments to support smooth daily flow.
- Lead and support teachers with coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Teach VPK from 9am-12pm
Family & Staff Relationships
- Build warm, trusting relationships with families and provide strong communication about their children’s progress, needs, and milestones.
- Foster a collaborative, positive team culture where staff feel supported and valued.
- Address parent concerns with empathy, professionalism, and timely follow-up.
Program & Curriculum
- Ensure curriculum implementation across all classrooms supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children.
- Use your special needs experience to guide staff in adapting strategies, routines, and environments to meet individual child needs.
- Partner with therapists, support services, and families to coordinate individualized plans when necessary.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, attendance, and documentation required by licensing.
- Manage enrollment, tours, and family onboarding with warmth and clarity.
- Ensure the center environment is clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate at all times.
Qualifications Required
- Previous hands-on experience working with children with special needs.
- Florida Director Credential
- Experience in a childcare, early childhood, or school leadership role.
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lead with compassion, calmness, and a team-focused mindset.
Preferred
- CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in childcare or preschool administration.
