Position Details:
- Location: Brewster Hosmer Apartments – Freeport, IL
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $20 per hour, based on experience
- Schedule: 40 hours per week with rotating on-call responsibilities
- Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Property Manager
What You’ll Do:
- Complete resident service requests quickly, professionally, and with care
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents to a high standard
- Maintain and repair building systems, including HVAC (PTAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
- Perform routine preventative maintenance across the property
- Help ensure grounds, hallways, and common areas are safe, clean, and welcoming
- Work with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in apartments, hotels, or similar settings
- Strong skills in general repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
- HVAC experience or certification a plus (EPA Type II or Universal preferred)
- Reliability, accountability, and strong attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
