Kress Food Hall - General Manager

Position Summary:

Kress Plaza seeks a General Manager to oversee the daily operations of its multi‑vendor food hall. This role supports the organization’s leadership by ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong vendor relationships, and efficient operational performance. The position requires a hospitality‑driven leader with experience managing complex, high‑traffic environments and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of food hall operations, including vendor relations, customer service, cleanliness, and safety. 
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all vendors and service areas. 
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost controls to meet revenue and profitability goals. 
• Hire, train, and supervise staff, including assistant managers, maintenance personnel, and customer service teams. 
• Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional events to drive traffic and enhance brand visibility. 
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations. 
• Resolve customer complaints and vendor issues promptly and professionally. 
• Monitor inventory, supplies, and vendor performance to maintain high operational standards. 
• Collaborate with vendors to optimize offerings and support their success. 
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facility.

Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of experience in food service, hospitality, or retail management preferred. 
• Prior experience managing multi‑vendor or multi‑unit operations strongly preferred. 
• Valid Food Handler’s Card and TABC certification required. 
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
• Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting and reporting. 
• Effective problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills. 
• Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for hospitality. 
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment. 
• Familiarity with food service operations and health regulations. 
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic office software.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the food hall. 
• Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds. 
• May require climbing stairs or accessing elevated areas. 
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.
