Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for residents.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
- Support discharge planning by preparing residents for transition back to home or other care settings.
- Educate residents and their families on physiotherapy techniques and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments administered, patient responses, and clinical observations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care across various settings including clinics, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in physiotherapy with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care plan development.
- Hands-on experience with outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
- Skilled in specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedics-focused interventions.
- Strong understanding of geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, and discharge planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with healthcare teams.
