OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Phlebotomists with EKG experience to support inpatient services at the Long Beach VA Health Care System located at 5901 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90822. Services will be delivered across multiple inpatient departments and units on a variety of shift schedules. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers’ success as if it is their own.ResponsibilitiesPerform proper specimen collection and labeling for routine and special proceduresConduct venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groupsCollect specimens for urinalysis, 24‑hour urines, toxicology, microbiology, and other laboratory testingEnsure correct patient identification, tube selection, specimen volume, timing, and handlingAccession specimens and ensure timely transport and distribution to laboratory sectionsCommunicate with laboratory personnel during peak workload periods to ensure timely processingMaintain compliance with VA policies, infection control standards, and patient privacy regulationsPerform resting EKGs for inpatient populations as neededEnsure proper lead placement and patient preparationRecognize basic abnormalities and report findings per protocolExplain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and comfortProperly document completed EKGs in the VA electronic health record systemMaintain and clean EKG equipment in accordance with facility standardsNote: This role is primarily phlebotomy‑focused, with EKG duties performed as needed in the inpatient setting.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPhlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (California CPT I or CPT II required)Completion of an approved phlebotomy training programCurrent American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMinimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience within the last 3 years2–3 years of experience in an acute care or inpatient setting preferredDemonstrated proficiency in:Venipuncture and capillary collectionsDifficult draws and pediatric collectionsUrine drug screens and special collectionsPrior experience performing EKGs in a clinical setting required (formal EKG certification preferred but not required)Ability to pass VA background check, drug screening, and pre‑employment medical evaluationNo sponsorship availablePay Range: $38.81 - $43.90 hourlyAll candidates must be able to:Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shiftLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waistLift up to 20 lbsCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distancePush/pull with 30 lbs of forceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
