Education Team Program Associate, Anshe Emet Synagogue

The Education Team Program Associate is an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused professional who supports the synagogue's educational vision by helping plan and implement engaging experiences for children, teens, and families. Working closely with the Director of Education and other clergy and staff, this role is designed for someone who wants to bring new energy and excitement to our youth and teen population.  


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both behind-the-scenes planning and direct interaction with kids, families, and teachers.  


What You’ll Do 

Join our Anshe Emet Education Team and ensure our team communicates and executes with success. You will work closely with the Director of Education in supporting administrative tasks for the team.   


Responsibilities  

Youth & Family Engagement 

  • Develop and implement engaging educational and social programs for children and families throughout the year. 
  • Support family holiday celebrations, community events, and synagogue-wide educational experiences. 


Teen Programming 

  • Coordinate teen initiatives and supervise madrichim (teen teaching assistant) program. 
  • Lead our Am Yisrael High Teen Educational Series. 
  • Plan social events, leadership training, service opportunities, and special programs for middle and high school students. 


Religious School Operations & Coordination 

  • Oversee curriculum implementation.  
  • Coordinate substitute teachers and classroom coverage. 
  • Accountable for regularly scheduled family communications.  
  • Assist with planning and coordinating weekly Religious School programming. 
  • Prepare classrooms, supplies, curriculum materials, and learning resources. 
  • Support Monday, Thursday, Sunday and holiday programming, including setup, logistics, and day-of operations. 


Education Team Partnership 

  • Plan synagogue educational events, holiday experiences, and special celebrations. 
  • Support marketing efforts through newsletters, social media, website updates, and promotional materials. 
  • Maintain organized program calendars and scheduling. 
  • Order and organize educational supplies and materials. 
  • Track program budgets and expenses as assigned. 
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and educational materials. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Experience working with children, teens, families, or educational programs. 
  • Experience in planning events preferred.  
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Comfortable learning new technology platforms and databases. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative independently. 
  • Enthusiasm for building relationships and creating meaningful Jewish community experiences. 
  • Familiarity with Jewish life, holidays, traditions, and synagogue culture is preferred but not required for candidates eager to learn. 

 

Goals for the First Year 

  • Develop programs for first Shinshinim joining on Thursdays. 
  • Launch a new Teen Tikkun Olam Program. 
  • Implement and maintain at least one regularly meeting youth group on weekday evenings. 

 

Schedule 

This position includes regular weekday office hours as well as adjusted hours below during the Religious School year (September – May): 

  • Sundays 8am-1pm 
  • Mondays 10:30am – 6:30pm 
  • Tuesdays 10:30am – 6:30pm 
  • Wednesdays 10:30am – 6:30pm 
  • Thursdays 10:30am-6:30pm 
  • Fridays OFF 
  • Saturday OFF 

This is a program-based position, and the weekly schedule will flex to meet programming needs for holidays, youth activities, and family events. Evening and weekend hours are expected as needed. Staff may utilize supervisor-approved compensatory time to help balance these schedule adjustments. This job includes work over the High Holy Days. 

 

Salary 

 $60,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
