ANSER is seeking a Senior Information Assurance Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) in identifying and assessing cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across networks, systems, applications, and emerging technologies. ANSER is seeking a Senior Information Assurance Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) in identifying and assessing cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across networks, systems, applications, and emerging technologies. In this role, you will contribute to cyber workforce policy development, strategic planning, and legislative initiatives while helping ensure enterprise systems meet information assurance and security requirements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Identify and assess security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across networks, systems, applications, and emerging technologies.
- Apply knowledge of current Information Assurance (IA) policies, tactics, techniques, and doctrine to support reporting requirements and governance structures.
- Establish and maintain complex, system-wide information security requirements based on user, policy, regulatory, and resource needs.
- Support development and implementation of IA doctrine, policies, and cybersecurity strategies.
- Assist in planning and implementing cybersecurity and information assurance requirements.
- Provide security expertise for government and commercial enterprise systems as well as specialized systems requiring enhanced security features.
- Test and debug programs and scripts used in network exploitation or cybersecurity operations.
- Develop instructions and technical guidance for cybersecurity tools and processes.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, public policy, or human capital management)
- 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, information systems, or computer science
- Expertise with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus platforms, and software deployment tools
- Prior experience working at the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) level
- Experience supporting IT or cyberspace activities with Military Services, Defense Agencies, or Field Activities
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint development and administration
- Ability to manage competing priorities and workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects from conception to completion
- Highly motivated professional with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
