Reports to: Manager, Midstream & Marketing


Role: Responsible for supporting gas and oil marketing, scheduling, and commercial development across the Company’s asset portfolio. This role optimizes existing midstream and marketing agreements while identifying and executing new commercial opportunities to drive value and growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Schedule gas and diligently manage imbalances and execute gas purchases and sales in compliance with department objectives
  • Act as a bridge between traders and pipeline operators while having a real-time understanding of production flows and upstream operations
  • Develop an extensive working knowledge of Company’s assets and contracts.
  • Originate, develop, negotiate, and execute on new opportunities, while maintaining and optimizing existing commercial portfolio.
  • Manage and expand business contacts within the industry, through regular engagement, develop relationships, discuss current operations, identify new business opportunities, and gain market insight.
  • Identify potential new customers and business opportunities and manage proposal development, financial analysis, and contract negotiations
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to originate and execute on expansion opportunities and system optimization including new well connect planning
  • Support the development of cross commodity strategies.
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with other groups within the organization including Engineering, Operations, Legal, Accounting, Planning, Corporate Development, etc.
  • Create and deliver presentations that clearly articulate new opportunities and analysis to colleagues, management, and/or customers.
  • Perform financial analysis of new business development opportunities and present cases to management
  • Manages monthly settlements and communicates with Revenue Accounting for invoice preparation including monthly netback settlement review and management reporting
  • Prepares production and pricing forecasts and other market analyses/models
  • Helps develop long term gas marketing strategy including marketing commitments and planning and analysis to maximize revenue, limit exposure and maintain flexibility.
  • Assists in developing company's view on commodity pricing


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant oil & gas experience (midstream, marketing, or commercial)
  • MBA or Master’s degree is a plus


Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of gas marketing fundamentals (scheduling, contracts, imbalance management)
  • Understanding of patterns, correlations, and trends to support decision making and risk
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex gas and oil midstream logistics deals
  • Knowledge of finance and strong analytical and financial skills including economic valuation and return on investment
  • Advanced Excel skills (NPV, IRR, cash flow modeling)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Collaborative, with ability to influence across functions and with external partners
  • Travel up to 10%

Benefits and Anticipated Compensation

This role is eligible for both short- and long-term incentive opportunities. AEC offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, employer paid life and disability insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, and wellness support.


The starting rate for this position is expected to be between $140,000 to $170,000, based on experience, qualifications, and internal pay alignment. Final compensation may vary from this range depending on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s education, skills, prior experience, and evolving market conditions. This range represents Anschutz Exploration's good-faith estimate of the pay for this role at the time of posting.
