The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 – $92,000.
What you will be doing:
This is a marketing leadership role where you’ll own how a large, built-in audience stays connected to and engaged with a brand over time. You’ll be responsible for creating campaigns and experiences that keep people interested, involved, and coming back—whether that’s through content, events, or digital touchpoints. You’ll think strategically about how to build long-term relationships at scale, while also staying close enough to the work to execute and optimize what’s working. This role blends brand marketing, community-building, and lifecycle engagement—giving you the opportunity to shape how people experience and stay connected to an organization well beyond a single transaction. Internally, this position is titled: Director of Alumni Engagement and Marketing Communications
Lead marketing strategy & campaigns
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, social, events, and digital channels
- Shape the voice, messaging, and storytelling for alumni communications
- Use data and analytics to improve engagement and campaign performance
- Explore new tools (including AI) to reach and grow your audience
Manage and grow a team
- Supervise and mentor team member(s) (minimum 1 direct report)
- Help prioritize work, develop talent, and improve team performance
- Step in as a leader when senior leadership is unavailable
Create engaging experiences
- Oversee events and experiences that bring your audience together (both in-person and virtual)
- Be present at key events—this is a visible, relationship-driven role
- Help turn audience members into active participants, advocates, and supporters
Collaborate across the organization
- Partner with internal teams to align marketing efforts with broader goals
- Work closely with colleagues focused on fundraising and community engagement
What you bring
We’re open to candidates from corporate, agency, nonprofit, or other sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field
- At least 1 year of people management experience
- Experience building and executing marketing campaigns across multiple channels
- Strong storytelling and communication skills
- Comfort using data to guide decisions
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to attend events (including occasional evenings/weekends and some travel)
