Adult Basic Ed Teacher
Part-Time 12 months/90 days/4.75 hours a day
Schedule: Wednesday and Thursday evenings/Hours: 4pm -8:45pm
Locations: Metro North ABE -Adult Education Center - Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN
Duties: Provide direct instruction to multilingual adults learning English in level 2A in-person class. Responsibilities include lesson planning and direct instruction, conducting ongoing assessments, monitoring student attendance, attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff, maintaining student records, and supporting volunteers. Use communicative and cooperative teaching strategies during instruction. Integrate technology and implement the CCRS/ACES/Northstar standards. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Current MN Teaching License, or ABE license. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to work as a team member. Computer skills required. Must be physically working in the building/onsite.
Preferred Qualifications: High confidence in math skills through college algebra preferred. Experience using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction. Proficiency in integrating technology into learning is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations preferred. Computer experience and comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet, email, and Google apps preferred.
Rate of pay: $33.84/hour and up D.O.Q, View additional terms and benefits here.
