Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title: Sewing Machine Mechanic

Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair sewing equipment located within the facility
• Perform all work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and requirements
• Work closely with the Safety Committee to maintain an accident-free facility
• Work closely with management in the Sewing Department to contribute to overall goals and objectives.
• Provide timely feedback on issues that affect safety, quality, and/or productivity
• Keep work area(s) clean, organized, and free from debris, trash and clutter
• Work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills Required

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide array of manufacturing machinery to include automatic sewing machines, single/double needle straight stitch sewing machines, zig zag machines, tackers, large capacity slitting/converting machines, and spreader/cutting machines.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Speak, read, and write English fluently
• Ability to keep accurate written records
• Ability to follow both written and verbal directions
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
• At least one year sewing machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment
• Commitment to company values and goals
• Ability to report to worksite at scheduled times

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; smell. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; cold; and odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.04 - $21.09 per hour
