Position Type: Year-round employment (including summer)
Do you want to be part of a caring community dedicated to serving children? Annie Malone Children and Family Services is seeking a Cook to prepare meals and manage food services for our multi-site program in accordance with all policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:

Prepare three meals and snacks daily for 60-80 children, ensuring compliance with DESE and USDA nutritional guidelines.

Maintain USDA meal records, City Food Program documentation, and menu planning to meet all regulatory standards.

Adjust menus as needed for children with dietary restrictions while adhering to USDA guidelines.
Food Safety and Kitchen Cleanliness:

Ensure proper food storage and sanitation practices in compliance with health department regulations.

Maintain a clean and disinfected kitchen environment following agency and Department of Health standards.
Procurement and Budget Management:

Maintain food inventory and prepare weekly orders.

Monitor and manage food-related expenses, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Guardian Communication:

Inform parents/guardians of menu ingredients for allergy and food intolerance purposes.

Respond to inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
Accountability and Teaming:

Ensure food is served on schedule, cooked safely, and adheres to portion control standards.

Minimize menu changes and maintain quality in food preparation.
Other Duties:

Support agency-wide needs during emergencies or evacuations.

Maintain required certifications and training, including Safe Crisis Management (SCM).
Qualifications & Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required.

3 years of experience in a restaurant, school, residential, or institutional food services setting.

Certifications: Safe Serve, National Food Service Industry Institute Sanitation Certification, Hepatitis A vaccine series.

Valid Driver's License and automobile insurance; willingness to obtain a Class E license within 30 days of hire.

Strong knowledge of food safety, quantity food production, and dietetic nutrition requirements.

Proficiency in maintaining records and reports, including web-based reporting systems.
