What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at ANNIE HALENBAKE ROSS LIBRARY?
Clinton County Libraries seeks an experienced, forward-thinking, community-oriented leader to oversee all areas of the county libraries with the intentional focus of meeting the needs of a small municipality and the rural communities the libraries serve: The City Lock Haven, Renovo, and Beech Creek communities. The successful applicant will possess demonstrated experience in public library administration, fundraising experience, and experience with creative programs and services for all ages. The Executive Director is required to hold a master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Effective manager with a demonstrated ability to supervise, develop, and lead staff
- Strong communicator able to manage relationships with patrons, staff, donors, governmental and civic groups
- Provide leadership and vision for the Libraries’ strategic planning; work with the Board of Trustees to establish, revise, and implement policies and planning documents
- Sound fiscal management and budgetary planning skills; works with the accountant and Board Treasurer managing a budget of approximately $850,000
- Knowledge and experience with public library fundraising activities, including donor development, grant-writing, and creative fundraising activities
- Ability to represent and advocate on behalf of the library; maintain and develop relationships with local community organizations and residents
- Awareness of current and emerging library technologies
