Registered Nurse – Full Time
Location: Annette Island Service Unit | Metlakatla, Alaska
The Annette Island Service Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the Metlakatla community. This is a full-time position that includes participation in after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating schedule.
About Us:
Annette Island Service Unit is a rural outpatient clinic providing primary care, urgent care, and preventive health services to the residents of Metlakatla, Alaska—the only federally recognized Indian reservation in the state. Our team is committed to improving community health through culturally respectful and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient and urgent care setting.
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and assist providers with exams and procedures.
- Participate in case management activities, including patient follow-up, coordination of care, and health education.
- Conduct occasional home visits for patient assessments, medication reviews, and wellness checks.
- Support health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations for after-hours coverage.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state.
- Current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred).
- Prior experience in primary care, case management, or community/public health nursing preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a rural healthcare environment.
Schedule & Benefits:
- Full-time, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. schedule with rotating on-call duties.
