Responsibilities
We are seeking a hard working, quick learner, with attention to detail to join our team. This is a great opportunity in a laboratory medical environment where the focus is on patients, quality and doing the right thing. Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receives and accounts for all specimens from referring physicians
- Ensures proper labeling of specimens and that the information on the requisition matches information entered into system
- Inputs patient demographics and specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Documents missing or discrepant information
- Verifies correct information with QC process
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
- Must have some medical experience or knowledge (knowledge of medical terminology preferred)
- Must be extremely detail oriented and able to work quickly and productively
- Type 45 wpm with 100% accuracy. You will be asked to complete a typing skills assessment to verify skill level
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- Able to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Highly proficient with computer and word processing skills
- Reliable and dependable
Licensure/Certifications/Education
