Monday-Thursday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Fridays: 8 AM - 4:00 PM
This position is primarily based in our Suwanee office; however, occasional travel to our Duluth location may be required to support clinic operations. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Responsibilities

- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Document patient history and assist with EMR charting.
- Scribe provider encounters as needed.
- Assist providers during dermatology procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment.
- Process pathology and laboratory specimens.
- Manage patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Respond to patient questions and nurse line messages.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment.
- Ensure HIPAA and infection-control compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for appointments.
- Experience administering injections.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to appropriately triage patient concerns and escalate to providers as needed.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with providers, staff, patients, and visitors.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
Education And Experience
High school diploma or GED (required).
One Of The Following Is Preferred
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program externship (CMA/RMA eligible or certified).
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree in a pre-med, pre-PA, biological sciences, or related healthcare field, along with prior clinical experience.
- Prior experience in dermatology is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform moderate amounts of talking, bending, twisting, reaching, and balancing.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for clinical and administrative tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to handle materials such as paper, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Potential exposure to infectious organisms, chemicals, and sharp instruments.
