- Works with the IT Security team and managed Security Operations Center to investigate potentially compromised accounts, devices and systems.
- Assists with cybersecurity investigations and audits and develops associated reports.
- Assist with reviews of vendor contracts and STA/MOI requests to ensure compliance with all board policies, local and legal regulatory mandates.
- Assists with documenting, tracking and remediating issues found in white-hat network vulnerability and penetration tests and audits.
- Assists with developing and implementing cybersecurity standard operating procedures and tools based on industry best practices.
- Conducts training sessions on proposed cybersecurity solutions, procedures, and emerging technologies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager: Information Security.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field of education from a regionally accredited community college required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university preferred;
- Three (3) years experience as a professional system, network or security administrator or equivalent required.
- One (1) year experience in securing local and cloud-hosted systems technologies. Familiar with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Hyper-V server virtualization and PowerShell scripting preferred;
- One (1) year experience with firewall, intrusion detection and prevention technologies preferred;
- Demonstrated knowledge of current data privacy laws related public school systems.
- Demonstrated experience using system and network penetration testing and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Demonstrated experience performing confidential IT security-related investigations and audits.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing scripts.
- Working knowledge of current Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) , Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) , Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments with concurrent time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all security-related matters.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).

- Two (2) additional years successful experience required.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) issued by EC-Council required.
- Two (2) years continuous successful experience in the position at the Lower Grade level.
- Mastery of all responsibilities and duties of the position.
- Evidence of completion of additional training that may be recommended by supervisor and/or participation in approved professional development programs or courses, approved in advance by the supervisor. Successful completion of a minimum of one professional development within the last two years is required. Successful completion of job specific professional developments identified on the job description, performance evaluations and/or the supervisor’s documented recommendation are required.
