- Evaluates employment applications to confirm eligibility based on minimum qualifications and specific position requirements. Ensures timely receipt and verification of required documentation, including candidate references.
- Establishes salary offers in alignment with AACPS policies, compensation guidelines, and negotiated agreements. Reviews and audits salary offers prepared by other staff to ensure accuracy and equity.
- Extends job offers to selected candidates. Compiles and inputs accurate data necessary to complete the hiring process, including offer letters, staff notifications, and HRIS update information for hires, position changes, salary updates, and other employee records changes.
- Manages the Unit IV salary increase process, confirming eligibility, issuing notifications, and submitting documentation for HRIS updates in accordance with negotiated agreements.
- Monitors and tracks employees identified as excessed. Follows established procedures to ensure appropriate placement in accordance with AACPS policies and negotiated agreements.
- Represents AACPS at job fairs and recruitment events to promote employment opportunities. Occasionally travels to schools and recruitment sites to support talent acquisition initiatives.
- Provides instruction and support to candidates throughout the application, offer, and onboarding process.
- Serves as a resource to employees and managers regarding application, hiring, placement, compensation, and other staffing procedures. Provides guidance on relevant policies, negotiated agreements, laws, standards, and procedural requirements.
- Ensures all actions and decisions comply with organizational policies, negotiated agreements, and applicable employment laws. Maintain thorough documentation to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Four (4) years successful experience in human resources, preferably with professional recruiting experience required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of and experience in effective human resources practices.
- Knowledge of proper and effective interviewing techniques and the ability to assess the qualifications and suitability of applicants to meet staffing needs.
- Knowledge of and experience with automated Human Resources Information Systems and electronic applicant tracking system.
- Knowledge of federal and/or state legislation/regulations as pertains to areas of responsibility.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills as demonstrated by previous work experience. Results-oriented and ability to make data-driven decisions.

- Hold or be eligible for Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV) required; and
- Daily access to reliable transportation.
